Community Outings Across King County
From neighborhood parks and libraries to museums, farmers markets, and the trails of the Cascade foothills, Daybound designs community outings that help children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities experience the best of the Seattle area.
Meaningful Experiences, Thoughtfully Planned
Every Daybound outing begins with the person, not the schedule. Our team takes time to learn what each member enjoys, what sparks their curiosity, and where they feel most comfortable, then builds community experiences around those interests. Whether a member loves animals, art, being outdoors, or simply people-watching at a busy market, we create opportunities to get out, take part, and feel genuinely included, not just dropped off somewhere.
Where We Go
Daybound members explore a wide range of destinations across King County. We visit local and regional parks, nature preserves, and waterfront trails where members can walk, picnic, and enjoy the outdoors. We frequent museums and cultural sites for hands-on discovery, and we use libraries and community centers for calmer, sensory-friendly time. Members also take part in recreational activities like swimming, archery, and ropes courses, join seasonal community events and celebrations, and practice independence through everyday errands such as grocery shopping and café visits. The result is a varied week full of moments worth looking forward to.
Supported Every Step of the Way
Trained Daybound staff accompany members throughout each outing, offering the right level of support for each individual, stepping in when needed and stepping back to encourage independence when possible. Door-to-door pickup and drop-off is included with every scheduled outing, so families never have to worry about transportation or logistics. Members can take part in small-group activities or choose individualized one-to-one support, and every experience is shaped around safety, dignity, and genuine connection with the community.
Open to All Ages
Daybound serves children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout King County. Outings are matched to each member's age, interests, and abilities, so a teenager might spend an afternoon at a recreation center while an adult enjoys a quiet morning at a local museum or farmers market. Wherever members go, the goal is the same: meaningful time spent in the community, building confidence, relationships, and memories that last well beyond the day.
